Numbered by the dozen

Updated: May 4

I wish there were none, no more than just a few. But they are numbered by the gross, by the acts that people do. I wish there were hardly any, no more than a hand full or so. But they are numbered by the thousands, and that's just the ones we know. I wish life had never started, if so much ends in pain. For they are numbered by the million, those poor souls who have no name. They are numbered by the billion, the innocent young and old. Numbered by the trillion if the truth be told. In time they will be numbered by so many, Rich and poor alike. Out count the grains of sand, Why do we have to fight. I wish I knew the reason, why mankind goes to war. When enough blood has been split, to fill the sea from shore to shore. Poppy Rose
